- We switched the search engine used by Chef Infra Server from Elasticsearch to OpenSearch. We switched to OpenSearch because it includes the Open Distro security plug-in, which provides authentication and is missing from Elasticsearch, and because Elasticsearch changed its license from the Apache License to the Elastic License v2.
